Diet, Carbs & Nutrition

Eat a balanced diet.

Ever heard that? Well it’s true. Most of the energy you burn comes from the calories in carbohydrates and that’s the way it should be when you eat a balanced diet. With regular exercise and a balanced diet you won't have to resort to any of those fad diets.

Potato Nutrition

So where do potatoes fit in the nutrition equation?

Potatoes are good for you. They supply needed carbohydrates and other important nutrients to give you the fuel you need each day. Potatoes loaded with too much butter and sour cream are not good for you. Remember. It’s not the potato that’s the problem. It’s the high fat stuff you pile on.

So the next time you prepare your Klondike Rose™ potatoes, try them plain or with a little salt and pepper. You will be amazed at just how good they taste all by themselves. Want to mash those potatoes? Use 1% milk. It does the job, tastes great and is a low-fat alternative. Oh, and mash them with the skins on. It gives your mashed potatoes a great texture and the skins contain additional nutrients.
